Developing my skills further by training with the UK Academy of Therapeutic Arts and Sciences, gaining Diplomas in Clinical and Advanced Hypnotherapy, and Hypnotherapy in Practice, as well as becoming a Certified Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming, and a recognised member of The National Council for Hypnotherapy in 2023. I am also trained as an Hypno4Children Practitioner and completed Drawing and Talking training in 2024. I ‘m an Autism Ambassador with Autism Hampshire, and have been since 2016.
I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate.
I work with school aged children, young people and adults. I specialise in helping people overcome their issues in a safe space, through a course of tailor made treatment, suited to the client’s individual needs.
I’m passionate about alternative, drug free therapies as positive well-being platforms. The options available here at Into The Woods Rewilding offer life enriching tools to maintain health and happiness whilst treating mental and physical health conditions. Often the traditional options have lengthy waiting lists and aren’t suited to everyone. As a society we are facing a mental health crisis and now more than ever we are seeking alternative, effective treatment paths. This is why I choose to study and practice holistic therapeutic solutions. I can offer bespoke treatment plan tailored to the individual’s needs.
Rewilding at My Roots.
Nature has always played a big part in my life; I have always been drawn to wildlife, woodland, river paddling, and the English rolling countryside. I have always been fascinated by it and found myself particularly drawn to trees.
Although I’ve always had that connection with nature it wasn’t until I started training to be a Rewilding Therapist that I began to notice and understand why that connection is so important.
Today we live in a society far removed from our instinctual way of living. We have removed ourselves from our natural habitat and our time has been diverted away from our families, communities and working the land in favour of the rat race, the individual, convenience food and gadgets. As we moved away from our ancestral knowledge towards an easier life we forgot what we actually need to survive. In pursuit of more; more ease, more resources, more money, more time, more shiny things, we have found ourselves living like poorly kept, captive animals. We’ve all seen the videos of how animals respond to being torn away from their habitat, they rock, pace, exhibit strange behaviours, become physically and mentally unwell, yet we seem to forget we are animals too. Today we’re lucky if we notice green out of the window when we look up from our screens! This detachment has allowed us to cause catastrophic damage to our nature: environmentally, physically and mentally.
More and more studies are showing the positive effects being out in nature has on our brain chemistry, brain function, personalities, immune system, physical health, sleep patterns, mental health, coping strategies, healing ability, caring ability, well being and much more. By remembering and reconnecting with our environment we can reap the beneficial seeds nature has to offer, whilst protecting it for the future of our species. This doesn’t mean we have to throw away our Smartphone, go off grid and live in the woods. It means it’s time to readdress the balance between the demands of this society and the demands of our primal needs. This is where rewilding therapy can help. It provides the body with the nature nourishment it needs, whilst teaching strategies for dealing with modern life through nature connection for the betterment of physical and mental well being.
Hypnosis.
Hypnosis has also shown itself to have positive affects on our mental health and well being, with it becoming a popular alternative to traditional mental health treatments. It works on a subconscious level, providing the individual with a sense of deep relaxation whilst working on any issue they might be struggling with. Hypnosis is a treatment option mentioned within the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders fifth edition as a viable treatment options for many forms of mental health conditions. It is a non-invasive therapeutic option, a good choice to help heal, and maintain mental health.
Hypnosis has also been seen to have positive impacts on physical health conditions and pain management, it is a great complementary treatment to go alongside traditional medicine. Discuss with your GP to see if hypnosis could help you.
Drawing and Talking.
Drawing and talking is an excellent technique, especially for those who may struggle to verbalise feelings. It provides a non-invasive way to express and process emotions. It offers a soft approach to the therapeutic journey.
